In today’s modern marketing age, having a strong social media presence is essential for growing your business and staying relevant in your community. Posting regularly is a valuable form of repetitive marketing that keeps you at the forefront of consumers’ minds. When someone thinks of ordering pizza, you want them to instantly think of your restaurant’s most recent post.

It can sometimes be hard to build up your number of social media followers, and generating content can be a hassle if you don’t have a designated social media manager.

Using giveaways and online contests is a tried and true method of generating interest and followers towards your social media profiles, and the restaurant itself. These giveaways don’t need to be extravagant or costly for the business. People just love to win free stuff, even if it’s something simple like a pizza or even breadsticks.

There are a number of ways to run a social media giveaway, and you can get creative with the rules or requirements. The larger the prize, the more complex you can make the rules.

Here is an example of a simple giveaway your restaurant can promote:

Choose a compelling prize your restaurant can offer. Pick something that’s relatively inexpensive on your end, and easy to produce. A large, specialty pizza is always an enticing prize.

Step 1:

Create a post with a compelling caption that will draw attention such as “FREE PIZZA GIVEAWAY!”. List the rules below this caption.

Like this post & give our page a follow.

We will randomly choose a contest winner Thursday evening and notify the winner that dinner is on us.

Step 2:

Post this to your restaurant’s main social media feeds, Instagram and Facebook are the best options here. Leading up to the giveaway you can share this post daily to your story to gain more attention.

We’d recommend doing these giveaways regularly to maximize the impact. The more interaction with potential customers you can generate the better.

You may not gain a whole host of new followers right away, but doing these contests consistently will allow you to gain momentum and attention in your community. Happy customers are going to talk positively about your business, which in turn will give you an added boost in sales and online reviews. Giving away a few different items a month is a great way to keep your current customers happy, engaged, and talking about your brand.
