About Adora

Is Adora actually a pizza-specific POS, or is it a generic restaurant system?

Adora was built from the ground up for pizza restaurants — not adapted from a generic restaurant POS. That means native support for half-and-half pizzas, unlimited topping combinations, complex modifiers, combo and meal deal logic, delivery routing, and driver dispatch. These aren't bolt-ons or workarounds. They are core to how Adora works. Competing systems that were built for general restaurant workflows require operators to use workarounds to handle pizza-specific operations — Adora does not.

Who built Adora POS, and why?

Adora was founded around 2015 by Sharli Younan, who was serving as CTO of a large pizza chain and couldn't find a POS that met the operational demands of a modern pizza brand. He built one from scratch. Mountain Mike's Pizza became the first flagship customer. Adora is headquartered in Roseville, California.

What types of pizza operations is Adora designed for?

Adora is designed for single-location pizzerias all the way up to large enterprise pizza chains. The platform's sweet spot is operators running 5 to 300 locations, though it supports very large chains as well. It's especially well-suited for regional pizza chains, franchise pizza brands, multi-location pizza operators, and delivery-heavy restaurant concepts.

Pizza Features

How does Adora handle half-and-half pizzas?

Half-and-half pizza customization is a native feature — not a workaround. Adora's order entry interface handles half-and-half toppings, topping quadrants, specialty modifications, and unlimited combinations in a low-click workflow built specifically for pizza. This reduces ticket errors and speeds up order entry at the counter, which matters when you're moving fast on a Friday night.

Can Adora manage complex modifiers, combos, and meal deals?

Yes. Adora handles complex combo and meal deal logic natively, along with automated happy hour and daily deal pricing. Menu configurations are unlimited and managed at the brand level with centralized control across all locations — push a menu change once and it updates everywhere.

Does Adora include a Kitchen Display System (KDS)?

Yes. Adora's KDS supports multiple station configurations with custom layouts, auto-prioritization by order type with manual override, real-time KPIs on screen including queue depth and item counts, and visual indicators for paid versus unpaid orders. It's designed for high-volume pizza kitchen environments, not generic restaurant setups.

Does Adora support QR code ordering?

Yes. Adora supports both kiosk ordering and QR code ordering. With QR ordering, guests can place and pay for orders directly from their table or the waiting area — orders route straight into the POS and kitchen displays with no extra staff touches required. Less counter congestion, more staff time where it matters.

Does Adora support a bar tab workflow?

Yes. Adora includes a dedicated bar screen built for speed — open, update, and close tabs with minimal clicks, with clear visibility into all open tabs at a glance and the ability to set unique menus for bar stations. Designed for high-volume bar service, not retrofitted from the main POS screen.

Does Adora support curbside pickup notifications?

Yes. Adora's curbside texting feature sends automated arrival notifications to guests that sync with kitchen production timing — so the order is ready when the customer pulls up. No phone calls, no manual coordination, and a standardized handoff process that's consistent across every location.

Ordering & Delivery

Does Adora have native online ordering, or do I need a third-party system?

Adora's online ordering is native to the POS — there is no middleware and no third-party sync delays. Menus, pricing, and loyalty points all sync automatically at checkout. You can configure unique online menu categories, pause online and third-party ordering in seconds from anywhere, and give customers one-tap reordering from their order history. Adora also supports branded mobile apps for iOS and Android.

Which third-party delivery platforms does Adora integrate with directly?

Adora integrates directly with DoorDash, DoorDash Drive, Uber Eats, Grubhub, Postmates, and Caviar. In-house and third-party deliveries are managed from a single dispatch interface — with custom delivery zones, configurable minimums, fees, time windows, auto promise times based on real kitchen throughput, and real-time monitoring inside the Adora Connect app.

Can I manage my own in-house delivery drivers through Adora?

Yes. The Adora Connect Driver App gives drivers real-time dispatch, the ability to route multiple deliveries simultaneously, tip acceptance at the point of delivery, and compatibility with Apple Maps, Google Maps, and all native navigation apps — so drivers use whatever navigation they already prefer. Management gets full real-time visibility into driver locations and delivery status from the same interface.

Does Adora support a centralized call center for phone orders?

Yes. Adora includes a fully web-based call center application that routes calls across all locations through a single number. Call center agents can see order status and dispatch from the same system, keeping phone volume off the in-store team so staff stay focused on production — not picking up the phone.

Hardware & Payments

Do I have to use Adora's payment processor?

No. Adora is payment-agnostic. You choose your payment processor — currently Heartland or Worldpay — and keep processing completely independent from your point-of-sale. This lets you shop your processing rates without being locked into a vendor's processor or paying mandatory fees built into the POS contract. Your payment economics stay in your control.

What hardware does Adora run on?

Adora is hardware-agnostic. It runs on Windows terminals, tablets, iPads, laptops, and other internet-connected devices. You are not required to purchase proprietary hardware. If you already own compatible devices, you may be able to use existing hardware — which significantly reduces switching costs compared to POS vendors that require their own proprietary terminals.

Does Adora require on-site servers at each location?

No. Adora is fully cloud-native — there are no on-site servers to install, maintain, or update. The system runs entirely in the cloud with a centralized SQL database, automatic software updates pushed without downtime, and remote access from anywhere. This eliminates the IT overhead and upgrade friction that come with hybrid or server-based POS architectures.

Does Adora support cash discount and multiple payment methods?

Yes. Adora supports unlimited payment methods and optional cash discount programs. It also includes automated batch close and end-of-day reconciliation across both Heartland and Worldpay, keeping your books clean without manual work.

Multi-Location & Enterprise

Can I push menu changes to all my locations at once?

Yes. Adora Cloud gives corporate teams centralized control over menus, pricing, discounts, and promotions across every location. Push a change once — it propagates everywhere instantly. Individual stores can also be configured with their own unique menu categories and permissions on top of the brand-level baseline.

Does Adora support franchise hierarchy and role-based permissions?

Yes. Adora Cloud includes store hierarchy management with role-based access controls and full audit trails across every location. Corporate, regional, and store-level permissions can be configured independently — making it suitable for franchise systems where different operators need different levels of control without exposing settings they shouldn't touch.

Does Adora have an open API for custom integrations?

Yes. Adora provides open APIs across several domains: the Data API supports custom BI tools, data warehousing, and marketing platforms; the OrderHub API powers conversational AI and voice ordering (including via Palona AI); the Employee API connects payroll providers; and the Caller ID API supports phone integrations. Current integration partners include FohBoh, Restaurant365, Savi, PizzaCloud, and others.

Does Adora include inventory management across locations?

Yes. Adora includes centralized inventory management across all locations, intelligent purchasing suggestions based on usage and sales forecasts, dough projections based on actual usage data, store-to-store transfers to balance inventory, and vendor integration via FTP. Built specifically for pizza inventory realities — not generic restaurant stock management.

Does Adora support predictive scheduling and labor management?

Yes. Adora includes a sales-driven scheduling engine that forecasts labor needs using historical data, order type mix, and delivery volume. Managers can compare forecasted, scheduled, actual, and ideal labor in one report. The Adora Connect app handles shift swapping, time-off requests, timesheet review, real-time KPI alerts, and multi-store employee access — with bilingual support in English and Spanish.

Loyalty & Marketing

Does Adora have a built-in loyalty program?

Yes. Adora includes a fully integrated loyalty engine that syncs across both POS and online ordering automatically — no manual reconciliation. Operators can customize earning rules by visit, day, menu item, or occasion. The program supports points, birthday rewards, milestone incentives, and membership tiers with configurable benefits per tier.

Can I run email and SMS marketing campaigns from within Adora?

Yes. Adora Cloud includes a marketing suite with unified customer profiles across all locations. Segment guests by store, order type, preferred menu items, visit frequency, and average spend — then reach them through a built-in email designer with POS-driven personalization, SMS campaigns, fundraiser tools, coupon deployment, and customer surveys. All from the same platform your operators already use.

Does Adora support gift cards?

Yes. Adora supports both digital and physical gift cards, fully integrated with the POS. Supported gift card providers include Adora's own system, ValueTec, Smart Transactions, and Heartland. Gift cards generate immediate cash flow and drive return visits — without requiring a separate platform to manage them.

Support & Onboarding

What does Adora's customer support look like?

Adora provides 24/7, 365-days-a-year U.S.-based phone support — included in every contract at no additional charge. There are no per-call fees, no support tiers, and no outsourced call centers. All support is handled by Adora specialists who understand pizza operations. Adora reports a 93% one-touch resolution rate, meaning the majority of issues are resolved on the first call. When it's 11pm on a Friday and your POS goes down, that matters.

How long does it take to train new employees on Adora?

Adora is designed for fast onboarding — the system is built to get new employees operational in approximately 15 minutes. The low-click interface, purpose-built for pizza workflows, reduces the learning curve compared to general restaurant POS platforms. For high-turnover environments, this directly reduces training costs and gets staff productive faster.

Are software updates automatic, or do I have to manage them?

Automatic. Because Adora is fully cloud-native, software updates are pushed centrally without downtime or manual patching. There is no local server to update, no IT team required to manage releases, and no location-by-location rollout to coordinate. Every location runs the same version at all times.

Switching & Comparisons

How does Adora compare to Toast for pizza restaurants?

Toast is a large general restaurant POS platform. Adora is built specifically for pizza. The key differences: Toast requires proprietary Android hardware — Adora runs on any internet-connected device. Toast requires operators to use Toast payment processing — Adora lets you choose Heartland or Worldpay and keep processing rates competitive. Toast was designed around general restaurant workflows and often requires workarounds for pizza-specific operations like half-and-halfs, modifier complexity, and delivery dispatch. Adora was designed for these from day one. The question isn't which platform is bigger — it's whether you want a general restaurant POS or one built for how pizza actually operates.

How does Adora compare to HungerRush for pizza restaurants?

HungerRush is a known name in the pizza POS market. Key differences: HungerRush uses a hybrid architecture with store-based server components — Adora is fully cloud-native with no on-site servers. HungerRush requires payment processing through WorldPay via reseller agreements — Adora is payment-agnostic. HungerRush relies on proprietary terminals — Adora runs on any compatible device. Adora also offers more flexible contract structures; HungerRush contracts have historically included long commitments and exit penalties.

Is switching to Adora from another POS complicated?

Switching any POS involves some transition work, but Adora is designed to reduce friction. There are no servers to install, staff training takes approximately 15 minutes, and software updates are automatic from day one. Adora's team works with operators through the transition. If you're currently under a long-term contract with exit penalties, Adora's flexible contract structure is designed to give you more options. The demo conversation is a good place to discuss your specific situation.

Is Adora more expensive than other pizza POS systems?

The total cost of ownership picture looks different once you account for the full stack. Because Adora is hardware-agnostic, you avoid mandatory proprietary hardware purchases. Because Adora is payment-agnostic, you keep control of your processing rates instead of paying whatever the POS vendor charges. Because updates are automatic, you don't carry IT overhead or upgrade costs. Because support is included with no per-call fees, you don't get surprised by support bills. Operators who've switched from systems with hardware lock-in or mandatory processing fees often find Adora costs less over time — not more.

Which notable pizza brands use Adora?

Adora is trusted by well-known pizza brands including Marco's Pizza, Mountain Mike's Pizza, Pizza My Heart, Topper's Pizza, Pizza Guys, and Eddie's Pizza, among others. Marco's Pizza — one of the fastest-growing pizza chains in the country — uses Adora across its locations. Marco's CIO Rick Stanbridge has said: "Adora POS is the cornerstone of growth and efficiency at Marco's Pizza. Every fast-growing pizza franchise should be using Adora POS."
